Join Addy Moss in Supporting Bridging Bionics' Athletes!
Hi,
At the age of 2, we began to notice Addy was not meeting some pre-toddler milestones so we started investigating and after a few doctor appointments and an MRI, Addy was diagnosed with a rare, genetic condition called 4H Leukodystrophy. Addy, now eight years old, is generally a happy kid, but sometimes by the time she comes in the afternoon after school, she is exhausted. Maria is so good at giving her time and space to mentally prepare for physical therapy.
When we start a session, Addy adores the virtual reality device. I think it is so cool for her to be in a space with no limits! When we first started at Bridging Bionics in 2017, we used the Galileo vibration system a lot, and it really resets her body with digestion, sleep, and other aspects too! We took a couple years off during the pandemic and then the transition back into school, but then Addy was hospitalized for a month in Denver. During her hospitalization, she lost a lot of her strength. She couldn’t walk with her walker, sit up on her own, or feed herself independently. When we were discharged and returned to the Roaring Fork Valley, we noticed she was really in desperate need of regaining balance, strength, and confidence and that’s when we rejoined Bridging Bionics.
Now, she is using her walker, running the Monday Mile at school, and standing during school projects. She is able to be surrounded by multiple stimuli and still complete a task at school and that’s amazing for her! Truly, her diagnosis isn’t great and she fights for everyday so whatever we can do now, is the best for her! It is crucial for her to gain her strength, confidence, and balance back as that helps her with daily tasks outside of therapy. Having the strength to eat independently or even stand for 10 seconds is a huge accomplishment for her!
For this reason, I wanted to pay it forward by helping fundraise for their '23 Bridging Mobility Campaign. I am asking for your support to help me raise my personal goal of $500. With 64% of the athletes that Bridging Bionics serves needing financial assistance, donations will go directly towards scholarships that will cover their annual $500 program fee. Overall, by mobilizing together, we hope to raise a total of $20,000 for this cause and any amount of donation counts!
By becoming a donor, you will be giving the gift of mobility to all Bridging Bionics' athletes and will ensure everyone has access to a healthier, physically active, socially connected and fulfilling life!
I Appreciate Your Help,
