Give the gift of mobility

It's so hard to describe how Bridging Bionics has impacted my life. They have been instrumental in my healing journey and I cannot thank them enough. I hope that everyone can see the way they are changing the world by not only changing my life but of the community around us. This is the kind of program that transforms the world because it shows us that what we once thought to be impossible is actually only impossible for now. Because if after 20 years of being paralyzed and I'm regaining feeling, range of motion, and strength in what I once thought to be dead parts of me then I think anything is possible and they helped show me how.

Below I have posted a poem I wrote about my healing journey with my body and I hope that it will convey the magnitude of the power Bridging Bionics has had in my life.

My Body Is My Home

My body was torn asunder
into a million piece flung
scattered haphazardly across
this universe.
They talk to me
through the void
of years of pain
saying, singing, screaming faintly
they want to come home.

I lean into the vastness
of empty space
that is my body.
I take the journey
through the eternal dark
listening for their song
and I whisper back
it's time to come home.

I leave tendrils of light
faint strings to follow
connecting the stars
expanding into endless space
for this is how large I have become
and I must learn to make it all
my home.

Help me by helping Bridging Bionics continue to give the gift of mobility to their clients. I’m one of the fortunate individuals who directly benefit from their mobility program. Each client receives up to three hours of therapeutic mobility sessions per week, which is 144 sessions per year. That equates to $10,800 that is gifted to each client per year. My cost is just $500 for their annual program fee to access advanced technologies and one-on-one physical therapy.

I’m asking for your support. My personal goal is to raise $500 to contribute to the campaign’s end goal of $10,000, which will fund the Bridging Bionics scholarship program for 2021. My mobility is vital to maintaining my health and overall quality of life. Let’s do this together.
